Builders in Essex – 2011 projects so far….

Following a very busy start to the new year, and having completed several projects, Milbarn Construction have also won a number of contracts that we look forward to starting.

So far Milbarn Construction have completed a Demolition and Re-construction job for Express Asphalt in Chelmsford [Before and after pictures below], requiring the careful demolition of a damaged wall [approximately 6000mm x 4700mm]. The wall was reconstructed using LBC Tudor face brickwork to the outer skin and Heavy duty Block work to the internals, replacing both the windows with new, double glazed, hardwood units. Work was completed on time and to budget.

In Brentwood, Essex, Milbarn Construction had the pleasure of working for a client who has instructed Prime Oak to build them an English Oak Orangery, which required our services to dig out the foundations and construct the brickwork, ready for the orangery to be fitted.
Once prime oak completed the joinery process we completed all of the roof work. Shortly we are due to commence the internal completion work which will include: electrical and plumbing work, plastering, screeding, floor laying and decoration.
Our client also instructed us to remove the existing flat roof to his kitchen and construct a matching Oak lantern to that of the orangery and site this in the middle of the new kitchen roof. This has provided a huge increase of natural light.

Milbarn Construction have also just completed a floor laying job in a Victorian property in Brentwood. This required the existing floor boards to be completely removed from the lounge/diner, the existing floor joists to be leveled out and re fixed before having 18mm WBP plyboard screwed down.
An antique Oak solid floor, sourced from Boen, was then laid throughout and finally new skirting boards we’re fitted.

The latest jobs that have been won by Milbarn Construction are as follows:

A complete building overhaul / Renovation to a bungalow in Horndon on the hill, Essex, which will require the existing building to be completely stripped down to a bare shell, ready for a complete refurbishment, which [ to name a few aspects] will require new drainage, a solid Oak Orangery, a new roof incorporating a loft conversion which will provide a large bedroom/en-suite and Marley Eternit Cedral – weatherboarding to be laid to the exterior. We will keep you updated!

For reference, Below is a property in Bulphan, Essex, which we fitted Marley eternit Cedral weatherboarding to in the summer of last year. Once installed, it requires no maintenance. It also comes in a range of colours.

A local Junior school in Thurrock, Essex, have also accepted our tender to re-instate there decking play area, which will require the removal of the existing damaged decking. This will be replaced with a non – slip product and the whole surrounding area laid with Play bark.

A property in The Fairway, Upminster, Essex, has instructed Milbarn Construction to carry out a large reconfiguration to the internal section of there Kitchen, diner and garage. This will require the removal of a large supporting chimney breast, blocking up existing doorways and creating alternative ones. This will create a large area ready for the installation of the new Kitchen that the client has designed. The work also requires new doors and windows to various areas of the property, which must match the existing. Traditional Windows in Hornchurch, Essex, have been awarded this task.

We will keep you updated on all the above jobs as they begin!
