Milbarn Construction have undertaken a huge project over the winter months for The Oaks Residential care home, Hall lane, Upminster. This work included a complete removal of the majority of the roof, various structural timber repairs being carried out, before re – felting, battoning and laying new tiles. The tiles decided upon by the owner were Acme ‘burnt flame’, which are a modern tile, but give a traditional appearance due to there colouring. In excess of 1 mile of batton and 20,000 tiles have been replaced. Here you can see a small knock through carried out in a hallway gaining access into an integrated garage.
