Renovating your Essex Home
For many of us, whilst the housing selling and buying market is so flat, moving home is not an option. The majority of clients who come to us to enquire about renovating current homes and properties, or even extending them so fit in with their current lifestyle, this is exactly the case.
If you are struggling to house a growing family or simply wish to refurbish your property, be it a modern or classic style house, Milbarn Construction can help you to alter areas of your current home through clever design and expert renovation.
Our experts will always help you with careful planning where required, we are also able to work with architectural drawings should you have already approached the initial planning stages. Matching your lifestyle to your home is something we should all do if we have the budget to do so – and we will assist you at every stage of a newly proposed home renovation project.
Making the Most of Your Budget
Start at the beginning. What this means is begin with a design without rushing to a builder when you have no ideas in place. This doesn’t mean don’t come to Milbarn Construction straight away but if you approach a builder on a whim without any ideas, the risks you take are rushing into a large project which hasn’t been carefully considered.
It sounds strangely obvious but a builder will build, a carpenter will create, and a designer will design. Thankfully we have on-board designers who can help, though as we already mentioned we can work with well-drawn architectural plans where you have already approached this stage.
Good design means that the builder can provide you with the most accurate quotation based on those plans. A standard builder will normally recommend something that is easier for him to build. Milbarn Construction have experts who can assist at this stage and progress the project from the outset, in a professional and detailed manner.
Get design advice to ensure that the room layouts flow beautifully, and that the layout works for you and your current or proposed lifestyle. Where you are renovating rooms and retaining the current sizes this may only apply if you wish to move windows and doors. If you are planning to renovate, alter or extend then you will need to consider that the structure currently in place is going to work with the added or changed interior space you intend to have completed.
Again, a good set of drawings will help you visualise the finished renovation (should you be extending or removing or moving interior walls.)
In summary, we are hugely experienced in our field and if we can’t help you design your space our team will always work with your current plans and help you to perfect them. Matching your home and renovating to a very high standard is something we have worked to do for years. Our team are very hard working, ensure that we work closely at every stage of a renovation with our clients, and always make sure that there are regular updates throughout the process so that we can hand over to you when we’re completed in the know that you will be happy with your finish, your layout, and the improved home that you dreamed of from the outset.
